Expanded Environmental Monitoring and Long-Term Health Assessment Program

January Update

Talison Lithium continues to progress its expanded environmental monitoring program to support a long-term health assessment for the Greenbushes community.

The program includes an expanded air-monitoring network and the collection of water, soil and vegetation samples within a 10 km radius of the Greenbushes Lithium Operation.

Progress to Date

Since announcing the program in October, Talison has:

  • Held a community drop-in session at the Greenbushes RSL and engaged with Talison’s Stakeholder Reference Committee (SRC).

  • Invited residents, businesses and community groups within 10 km to register their interest in participating in the sampling program.

  • Received registrations from more than 60 community members interested in participating.

  • Completed tender evaluation and selection processes for program design, monitoring and sampling.

  • Included SRC representation on the tender evaluation committee to ensure community perspectives and local knowledge informed decision-making and awarded:

    • The air-monitoring program design and monitoring to Environmental Technologies & Analytics

    • The community sampling program to JBS&G Australia

  • Purchased Air Monitors from the United States.
