At Talison, the work we do at our Greenbushes Lithium Operation helps power millions of electric vehicles travelling roads around the world. Through Talison’s investment in a local community initiative, that global contribution is now visible closer to home.
Through funding of more than $600,000, Talison has supported the Bridgetown–Greenbushes Tourism Association (BGTA) to deliver the region’s new ultrafast electric vehicle charging station.
Located in the heart of Bridgetown at 154 Hampton Street, the charging station was officially opened in March. It features two charging bays delivering up to 300kW, allowing most electric vehicles to recharge in less than 20 minutes, with rooftop solar and battery storage helping to support its operation.
Most of the vehicles using this charger are likely powered by lithium‑ion batteries, many of which are enabled by lithium produced at Greenbushes. This creates a tangible link between the work done at our operation each day and local infrastructure supporting cleaner transport.
Talison CEO Rob Telford joined BGTA Vice President Phil Beach at the opening and spoke about how the project aligns with Talison’s purpose of enabling a better future. He highlighted the role lithium from Greenbushes plays in enabling electric vehicles and renewable energy storage systems globally, and how initiatives like this reflect the connection between Talison’s work and the broader transition to cleaner energy.
The new ultrafast charging station strengthens Bridgetown’s appeal for EV travellers, creates flow‑on benefits for local businesses, and provides the BGTA with an income stream to reinvest in tourism and community events.
What we do at Greenbushes matters. Projects like this reflect what we are proud of at Talison, our people, our history, and the role we play locally and globally. Talison remains committed to supporting initiatives that align with our purpose and values and strengthen our connection with the communities around us.
